Holy Cross Church stands as a conservative and traditional Anglican presence in Lake County, Illinois. Our theology is in line with that of the Anglican Communion, world-wide, and our worship follows the liturgy produced by the liturgical commission of the Church Of England as Common Worship; a set of liturgical options for members of the Anglican Communion. Our liturgy is Anglo-catholic and our music draws from the best of traditional hymnody as well as contemporary compositions.

The Church is affiliated with the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA). Holy Cross Church was received into the Diocese of Quincy on October 14, 2011. The Rev. Canon Eric T. Raskopf began his ministry as the Vicar on April 15, 2012 and resigned suddenly on May 26, 2016.
